Arrested for treason, Jang Saeng makes a deal: They perform for the king and make him laugh or they will be executed…
I really enjoyed this movie, for now 5th (2nd until last year) all-time best movie in Korea with 12 million + admissions!!! I must say meeting the director in person, even for a short time, adds to anything I see from him. This movie is really good. Really good production with strong story. Outstanding performance by the never aging Jeong Jin Yeong! He makes an amazing King in this. The psychological aspect of his character is really interesting. He slowly discovers how he has been manipulated and fooled. He can’t even see it when commoners know about the truth. I think that what is unbearable for him. This movie really shows how a King because of his position and obligations can be totally disconnected from reality and be completely oblivious of what is happening around him.
