Yi Kang Hoon is a talented neurosurgeon obsessed with success. Coming from a poor background, his only goal in life is to become the head of Chunha University Hospital, where he works, and for that, he is ready to do anything.
We have here 2 heavy weights of Korean cinema: Shin Ha Gyun and Jeong Jin Yeong… 🙂 The atmosphere and story are similar to White Tower (young, ambitious and talented doctor from a poor background who steps over others to reach the top) which I found really good. Although White Tower is a little more tense and a bit better in terms or story telling and suspense. Here, I like the side love stories but Shin Ha Gyun really looks like a psycho at times especially in the end. If they wanted us to sympathize a little more with him, they should have soften him a little bit more and chose different angles to film him. I didn’t find the end really satisfying especially with Kim Sang Cheol’s character. It looks more like an independent movie which shows that sometimes, creators are given some freedom. I salute this originality but it was not what I was expecting. Don’t be mistaken, this drama is still very good. Give it a try!
