Ju Weon, a young autistic man, lives with his family consisting of a younger brother, a father who leaves home and an overly protective mother. One day she decides to register her son who loves to run to the Chun Cheon marathon taking place thirty days later. To train him, she then hires a former runner, sentenced for DUI to two hundred of community service at the facility her son attends to.
Very touching movie based on the true story of autistic runner Bae Hyeong Jin (배형진). If I were a director, I would make this kind of movie. Very good performance by Jo Seung Wu, beautiful Kim Mi Suk and Yi Ki Yeong. The movie depicts well what kind of hardship family members can go through and at the same time all the benefits of having someone autistic around. The coach, after getting to know Ju Weon, finds again his motivations and sensations he had lost long ago. The family, the coach, they are all autistic in a way, prisoners of their own sufferings, and through Ju Weon, they communicate again.
